Fel rhan o gais LleCHI Cymru i sicrhau statws Safle Treftadaeth y Byd ar gyfer Tirwedd Llechi Gogledd Orllewin Cymru; Mae LleCHI, Y Festri a CircoArts yn chwilio i gomisiynu tri artist lleol sydd yn 18 mlwydd oed neu hŷn i greu gosodiadau yn bocs ffôn Y Festri. Byddent yn dathlu hanes diwylliannol a diwydiannol Llanberis ac ei berthynas gyda llechi.
Nôd y brîff yw i greu bocs ffôn gyda dehongliad creadigol o un o’r themâu yma:
1. Chwareli Llechi Llanberis.
2. Castell Dolbadarn – 800 mlynedd.
3. Sut mae llechi wedi llunio’r gymuned.
4. Bywyd genethod yn amser y chwarel.
5. Chwedlau hanesyddol.
6. Llanberis gorffennol yn y presennol.
7. Llanberis Cudd.
As a part of the LleCHI Cymru bid to secure World Heritage Site status for the Slate Landscape of North West Wales; LleCHI, Y Festri and CircoArts are looking to commission three local artists, aged 18 and over, create installations in Y Festri’s phone box, which celebrate the cultural and industrial history of Llanberis and its relationship with slate.
The brief is to curate a phone box with an artistic interpretation of one of these themes:
1. The Slate quarries of Llanberis.
2. Dolbadarn castle – 800 years.
3. How slate has shaped the community.
4. Women’s life in the time of the quarries.
5. Historic legends.
6. Llanberis’s past in the present.
7. Hidden Llanberis.
